Come and let us return to Jehovah. For He has torn, and He will heal us; He has stricken, and He will bind us up. After two days He will bring us to life; in the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live in His sight. Then we shall know, if we follow on to know Jehovah. His going out is prepared as the morning; and He shall come to us as the rain, as the latter and former rain to the earth. Hosea 6:1-3 MKJV
Trouble has come, and it’s lurking around the corner, waiting to take me and you on a journey of fear, a journey that will take us away from GOD. Where did trouble come from? Why here? Why now? and many more are the questions that flood our minds in such times. There are small ones and big ones, troubles come in families, work ministries, churches, and nations even within us. Then, we who believe in Him know that nothing happens in our lives without GOD’s knowledge, troubles come into our lives only if GOD allows them.
Thus the question comes, why does GOD allow these troubles to come into our lives, here are few reasons that one can gather from meditating on Hosea 6: 1-3
- Return Tickets - Trouble helps us to start looking up to GOD, they may have come about because of our confidence in ourselves or because of the circumstances that we find ourselves in. They are in a way our return tickets to GOD. They help us ponder and understand the futility of our many efforts and help us focus on who GOD is .Troubles help us meet GOD again.
- Knowledge Builders - Troubles push us to look for solutions and naturally solutions have to come from the knowledge of GOD. The time we spend in pursuing the knowledge of GOD, helps us build solutions for the troubles that come in our lives. Troubles intentionally and unintentionally make us knowledge builders of GOD, helping us to grow in wisdom and leading us to help others in trouble.
- Rainfall - Rain is always a welcome refreshment after a long summer, when raindrops fall upon us, there is joy and refreshment in our lives. Thus after every trouble and when GOD brings forth the solution through our prayer and submission, He brings upon us, rain of blessing, healing and miracles. GOD’s spirit comes like rain into our lives, changing and renewing us through His grace, love and mercy. We then have the strength and confidence to face every new trouble, in HIM and through HIM.
The ultimate purpose of all our troubles is to see the hand of our GOD raise us up. As our confidence and faith grows in Him, HE will raise us up over every problem so that we may know who He is. He may have torn us but He will heal us, HE may have stricken us but HE will bind us and just as His Son rose on the third day, HE will raise us up, He will save us.
So today, if you are looking towards a trouble, an obstacle, a mountain, remember GOD knows it is there. He wants you to be ready, to fight, to submit completely, to be revived, and to rise up in HIM. Raise us up, Jesus, Raise us up….
