There are many ways that you come to know the name of Jesus. You could be born into Him, bought into Him, influenced by Him through your circle of friends or educational institutes you have attended, seen Him work in your life or even actually had a face to face encounter. All these experiences have an outcome that is based on our choice of how to react to these experiences.
The choice that you have is whether to add Jesus to your life or submit to Him. Many of us have added Jesus to our lives, we talk about Him as one of the many, we relate to Him as one of the many, we attend church and the activities around it to show we are part of the many, we speak about Him as one of the many so that we do not offend others (also known as tolerance), we continue on this addition process making Him part of the many things we do as we lead life in this world.
On the other hand we could also submit to Him by making Him the center of our lives, making Him the reason of our actions, allowing Him to guide the decisions in our lives, waiting for His voice before the next big step, reflecting through Him the purpose of all that we do, seeing Him in the poor, orphan and widow and understanding who we are in Him.
Addition is easy, Submission is hard, Addition is a reaction, Submission is a process, Addition is now, and Submission takes time. The question for us today is "Have I just added Jesus to my life or am I submitted to Him on a daily basis?” This has been my thought across this week, hope it helps you reflect as well... Addition or Submission, what's the choice?
