A famous author was invited to a dinner party. He was seated next to a beautiful young lady and the author was in awe of her beauty. In the course of the evening he asked her, "If I gave you $100,000 would you spend the night with me?", she blushed, looked away and then softly said "Yes".
The author then leaned forward and said , "Would you spend the night with me for $10?". She looked at him with surprise and dismay and said "What?" to which he answered
"Now that I know who you are , we are just negotiating the price?".
What's your price?. When do you give up all your values and ethics to follow the way of the world? , When do you stop being good and do things that harm, destroy and plunder people?, What's your price to turn away from goodness and kindness.?
Our lives were already paid through the blood of Christ and His act of sacrifice on the cross. There is nothing we can do to buy goodness, nothing at all, we are already saved once we believe.
However we can sell our souls and that is why it is important to know your price so that we can stay away from the temptations that make us bargain our souls. Learn to say no to what is wrong and stand up for what is right. Learn to believe in the power of His love everyday and stop bargaining with the Devil.
