Evil seems to be gaining popularity across the world ,everyday she adds a new victim to her name. Through the violence in the Middle East to the gun wars in the U.S. , from the rape killings in India to the mass murder of refugees across the boarders of Europe, evil seems to be winning the battle. It is hard for the common man to take all this and actually understand, for as time goes by his heart also turns cold to these happenings.
Jesus in chapter 24 of the Gospel of Matthew talked about the coldness of man's heart and the consequences , it is evident we are all in one way or another starting to feel cold to evil. This allows evil not only to reign in the world around us but also in us. Goodness and righteousness ebb away when evil starts to reside in us and this where we need to take action.
1. Resist the devil-: The fight against evil starts within you , you have to wage war with the devil believing in the power of God and the hope of righteousness.
2. Walk with Jesus-: Understand who Jesus is , forget about religion and all the different denominations and trends out there, know this Man, understand His purpose , imitate His lifestyle within the circumstances of your life and see goodness grow in you.
3. Live in Hope-: The waiting is hard, being different in this world is hard,doing good is hard but do not loose hope, do good not for yourself but for the Glory of our God. Live in hope of a day where goodness and righteousness will stand tall.
Proverbs 14:19 says it this way
"The evil will bow before the good and the wicked at the gates of the righteous"
So go forth and be the good that He created you for and be assured that one day evil will bow before your King.
