Judas has left the room and walked into the night. His intentions clear and there is no turning back and his master knew what he was going to do. Jesus does not talk about Judas after that, does not speak about his actions and the person he is but immediately focuses on exalting God.
He says" Now the Son of man is glorified and God is glorified in Him.If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and glorify Him immediately. " John 13:31-32. Jesus is aware of the humiliation he is going to suffer across the next few days, He is aware of the pain and torture that He has to endure , He is aware of the betrayal He is going to face but yet He focuses on the fact that His Father is going to be exalted.
The cross and the resurrection are closely linked , where the cross is there is the resurrection, where humiliation is , there will be exaltation. This is the story of our Savior and this should be our story. When we stand against injustice, corruption, racism and ill treatment, we stand for the poor and weak and for this we will be humiliated and betrayed. In order to overcome this we need to focus on the goodness that will come from our actions, the people who will be rescued and the glory God will receive.
Jesus focused on the glory His Father will receive and not on His enemies or the suffering He was to face for He knew His Father will take care of that, so be it for us too. Let us focus, through all the injustice we face and fight against in our society, that the end goal is to glorify God through the resurrection of people from pain and suffering. Continue steadfast in your fights focusing not on your glory but the glory of our Father for there is a resurrection after the cross.
God bless
