A miracle that will be spoken about for centuries has just been done by Jesus. His disciples were witness to five loaves and two fish feeding a multitude and there still remained twelve baskets of fragments. The disciples were then sent onto to the boat to cross over to the other side while Jesus spent time on His own in prayer.
The evening came and the sea got unruly, storms raged and the waves rose, tossing the boat, the disciples had no control over the power of nature and were now fearful and troubled. In the midst of this confusion , they see someone walking on the sea, their hearts and minds filled with fear, they say, " It is a ghost". The very Jesus who was walking with them, leading them from the front, guiding them through troubles, the doer of miracles , has become a "Ghost".
When storms rage in our lives and confusion builds up , in spite of the many miracles He has done in our lives, we struggle to see the truth. The very Jesus who had lead us and strengthened us becomes a ghost to us. We are not able to see Him nor recognise Him. He is ever present in the midst of our troubles but we fail to recognise Him since our focus is on the storm, on the waves crashing into our lives, the darkness around us and not on the person of Jesus.
Jesus speaks and when He does let us open our ears to Him, when He says be of good cheer and do not be afraid, let the roots of our fears disappear. Remember , in all our troubles , we will see a miracle , not a ghost but Jesus showing us the way. Do not doubt and keep the faith.
