School, was never part of my favourite memories and I personally know I went through a tough time understanding what I was doing there, hearing things that never made sense, teachers who really liked those who did well and friends who were all lost in the thrill of the malayalee competition syndrome. When I look back I could kill, in my mind, a lot of those memories, never wanting them to come back . Well that never happened because I met that one teacher and had that one friend who showed me love , care and kindness. They changed my life by helping me see that life has a greater purpose than all the accolades I could get from men. School was important and in spite of the struggles I had, I will love to go through it again. Learning and understanding the facts of life starts in school, however to go through it, you need strength, hope and love.
In a couple of weeks , I will be meeting many of my friends from school after 25 years, they have all gone through different phases in life and behind the smiling faces there will be stories we will never share , burdens we will carry on our own and memories that we will cover each other with. The fact is in spite of all these , we are alive, strong, smiling and ready for the fight and I am sure we find our strength through love.
It was and is the love of my parents, my siblings, my teachers, my friends, my wife and my children that have brought me where I am today and deep in my heart I am sure that many of my school mates will feel the same. Love saved us all , made us stronger , in the midst of wins and failures we have realized, love saved us all . For me the source of this love that came through all the people mentioned above is Jesus , because the love they showered on me comes from the same source and that is what makes me fight the good fight .
So, I reach out to all of you who are much younger to me and still in school , it is tough out there, friends can become betrayers ,parents can become task masters and teachers can become vampires but remember there is always that one person who will teach you things through love , if you have not met him or her till now , pray about it for everything they do is out of love . Love saved us all.
Keeping the school reunion in mind and all the thoughts in my head I worked on a song with my dear brothers Raj Thomas and Jikku Philip , I really hope you like it because it brought back memories of my school days and today all the bad memories have become good ones through the power of Love. Looking forward to the school reunion....
