"It is frustrating, been praying this prayer for ages and yet I feel God is not really bothered. It may be a small thing for Him but it is really big thing for me and I need an answer now", could that be where you are today. It's a hard place to be and things seem to get tougher from there.Waiting on the Lord is probably the hardest thing to do in a fast paced world, where everything is available on the click of a button and swipe of a card. The stress of an unanswered prayer fills us with doubts and conflicts of God's presence in our lives.
The waiting can't be changed because God's measurement of time is completely different from ours, so the best thing we can do is change the way we wait and here are few things that can help-:
1. Remember His promises - God through the ages and His Son Jesus has filled the Bible with promises that we can hold on to. The promises speak right to us from our birth till our new life with Him. Take each of these promises and put your name into them and then search through your life and you will see many promises have been fulfilled and many more will be. His promises will never fail.
2. Reflect on His glory - The purpose of our lives is to Worship and Glorify our Father. As we wait on Him, reflect on this purpose and focus on making this the center of all we are doing or planning to do. When we practise this, in our secular work, our ministries and social lives , we will find a new meaning in all we do. His Glory becomes your focus.
3. Revive yourself - A revival starts from a place of nothingness , and this place could be within you, in your heart. The waiting has a purpose and it is to revive yourself, to make you ready for God's answer , which could be yes or no. As you take time to fill yourself with His Word , Power and Purpose , a revival takes place within you , that starts a revival all around you. Get revived as you wait.
The waiting will continue to be the toughest part but it could be a journey of joy for our Lord has promised that those who wait on Him will not be ashamed. Kings and Queens will bow down before us and we will be lead from glory to glory for His purpose. So it may be a prayer for healing, a new job, a child , a marriage, a new relationship, a new church, leaving your job or a big move , wait on Him , it will never be unanswered and we will never be ashamed for He has plans to build us and not to break us down. Hold on!!
