What was the most important lesson that 2016 gave me ?
"Nothing happens without prayer, passion, practice and persistence."
Prayer is a time of meditation, a time you listen to God and speak to Him openly what is on your heart. Having faith that your prayers will be answered and better solutions provided for unanswered prayers.
Passion, a deep and unshakable love for what you do and the people you do it for.A constant reminder that you work unto God and not men. A passion to know the joy of God, continuing to strive to do better than your best.
Practice , the ability to continually develop your skills. A child like curiosity to know more and do more . A wanting to develop your knowledge and expand your skills in areas God has gifted you and most importantly learning something new.
Persistence , it is good to fail often. Failure by your own actions , by the ignorance of your colleagues and friends, by lack of knowledge . All this can be overcome by persistence. Fail and fail often so that you can continue on this journey . Persistence is the key to moving forward . Alone or with company , keep failing forward, keep persisting .
However the most important lesson, has been ,to start each day in prayer, each day talking to Jesus and allowing Him to be part of your day. This brings all the above together as you are no more working on your own but in the power of the Holy Spirit.
These were my thoughts when the song "Have you been to Jesus?"was written. So as we step into 2017, let us start with the question " Have you been to Jesus?"
